The oldest children named in my research are a daughter named Salley (who married Richard Inman in 1837) and my ancestor James Thomas Maddrey (b. 1806 or 1807). It seems likely that William Maddrey (b. 1770) would have fathered children before Salley and James. To be fair, information on this generation is pretty fuzzy.... The Maddreys used certain names, like William, so many times that even the primary documents are pretty confusing.
