  1. Fine list of westerns there by LH. Always glad to see Peckinpah's PAT GARRETT AND BILLY THE KID on any list. BTW, in case you haven't seen it, next week as part of The Autry Museum's What is a Western? film series, they'll be showing LONELY ARE THE BRAVE. Great stuff. Thanks, Joe and Lance.

  2. I have a feeling Lance would love to see LONELY ARE THE BRAVE on the big screen. That movie is so significant to him that we named one section of the book after it. Unfortunately, he's busy that day -- signing autographs at the Weekend of Horrors convention in L.A.

  3. I'm going to be watching every single film that I haven't seen on this list. Happy to report that I have seen several, however. I'm a huge Italo-western freak, but love learning more about the American classics. Great stuff again, Joe!

  4. Alison,

If you need any more recommendations, just let me know and I'll post my 10 favorite westerns. Like you, I'm a big spaghetti western fan... but an even bigger fan of the American revenge westerns of the 1950s.
